The core principle behind what we want to implement is that the player is always in control. All randomness elements will be removed from the game leaving hopefully a reliable combat system that doesn't make it so the player feels cheated at times by a string of lucky critical hits or misses.

Currently the development is being held back by the lack of an artist to bring the concepts we created to life in the 3D environment as all 3 of the members working on it have little experience with modelling tools and could not make justice to the designs we had in mind.

MonBat is the work in progress project I am working on with two other programmers. We seek to recreate the tried and tested method of the pokemon style of combat and introduce our own twists into it.

For now we have little more than an animation controller and a combat system with attacks, status effects and a working UI.
